Guest Editorial: Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence Applications for E-services

Guest Editors: Chen-Shu Wang, Wen-Chih Chang, Wen-Chih Chang

Nowadays, user can achieve lots of services via various digital carriers, such as: smart phone and evens the GPS device. It becomes important to realize users’ behaviors and requirements about mobile-application. A lot of researches had been successfully applied to artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in related research area, such as recommender system, search engine, information retrieve, etc. For examples, AI applications for e-Service Content Design, AI applications for E-learning, AI applications for Learning Behavior Analysis, AI applications for E-finance, AI applications for Search Engine, AI applications for Knowledge Management, AI applications for Personalization e-service Recommender, and Business Model for E-Service Applications.
This special issue drawing attention to applied AI on the topic of e-service is an area that shows great research potential. In this special issue, we invited some papers from the 5th AIAE 2012 (The fifth workshop of Artificial Intelligence Applications for E-services) that in conjunction with the sixth International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing in Japan (ICGEC 2013). All of these papers have been reviewed with second round and were recommended to contain 30% more new material to be accepted and published in this Special Issue.
There are four research aspects about AI applications for e-services in this special issue. The first aspect is about the learning applications, including: the digital content design and intelligence game-based learning application. The second aspect intends to understand the social behavior and the attitude of users. Moreover, the third aspect involves some innovations e-services and various artificial intelligence methodologies applications, such as an adaptive algorithm and data mining methodology. The final fourth aspect of this special issue is about the ubiquitous environment deployment and discussion. We hope that the readers of this special issue enjoy reading and finding it useful in artificial intelligence application for e-service research. We would like to thank all the authors who worked hard to add and prepare substantial materials to the conference versions.
