Computational Features of the Thinking and the Thinking Attributes of Computing: on Computational Thinking

Abstract
The paper aims at revealing the essence andconnotation of Computational Thinking. It analyzed some ofthe international academia’s research results ofComputational Thinking. The author thinks ComputationalThinking is discipline thinking or computing philosophy,and it is very critical to understand ComputationalThinking to grasp the thinking’ s computational featuresand the computing’s thinking attributes. He presents thebasic rules of screening the representative terms ofComputational Thinking and lists some representativeterms based on the rules. He thinks ComputationalThinking is contained in the commonalities of those terms.The typical thoughts of Computational Thinking arestructuralization, formalization, association-and-interaction,optimization and reuse-and-sharing. TrainingComputational Thinking must base on the representativeterms and the typical thoughts. There are three innovationsin the paper: the five rules of screening the representativeterms, the five typical thoughts and the formalizeddescription of Computational Thinking.
