The Comparison of WML, cHTML, and XHTML-MP in m-Commerce

Abstract
In order to use mobile devices for businessapplication, mobile applications and standard have grownfast – so called m-Commerce that normally uses WAPprotocol to access remote web site wirelessly. WAP protocolhas moved from WAP 1.0 to WAP 2.0 in order to lessen thedeveloper’s load by simplifying and forcing languageindependency. WML has been used to provide web-like userinterface to mobile device on WAP 1.0. And, cHTML hasbeen used exclusively in NTT DoCoMo service. However,WAP 2.0 chooses XHTML-MP by considering existing WAPlanguages. The paper introduces and compares WML,cHTML and XHTML-MP in syntax and on experimentalresults. Besides, m-Commerce architecture on n-tierarchitecture is illustrated. The financial transaction systemon online game is implemented in those languages as amobile application to be compared.
